Alekya
A
noted Kuchipudi dancer, Alekhya received training under K.Uma Rama Rao
at Lasya Priya, Hyderabad. She also trained in bharatanatyam and obtained
a bachelor’s Degree from Osmania university, Hyderabad. She has
attended C.R.Acharya’s workshop on traditional dances.
Alekhya has won renown as a solo dancer. She has performed Kuchipudi in prestigious arts events including the Khajuraho Festival, the Swami Haridas Samaroh at brindavan, the Kalidas Samaroh at Ujjain, Sangeet Natak Akademi’s yuva Utsav at bhubaneswar and Hyderabad and the Kuchipudi Mahotsav in Bombay. She has also performed lead roles in Kuchipudi Yakshaganas including Alimelu Manga in alimelumanga Vilasam, Krishna and gopika in naukacharita, Rukmini in Sadhvi rukmini, Parvati in Gauri Kalapam, Laxmi in Vishnu Pallaki Seva Prabhandham and Kali in Chitrakuta Mahatyam.

is currently lecturer in the Department of Dance at Potti Sriramulu telugu
university, Hyderabad.
