Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan received his training in music under his grand uncle Ustad Nissar Hussein Khan of the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana initially at home and afterwards at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Calcutta. Since his first concert performance at the age of eleven in 1977 he has been performing regularly in national and international festivals of music, and has won wide recognition. His style is marked by technical virtuosity and sensitive phrasing. He has a number of cassettes and CDs to his credit.
