Kala Krishna

A well known representative of the temple dance traditions of Andhra Pradesh, Kala Krishna is a disciple of the renowned guru and scholar Nataraj Ramakrishna.

He has specialized in Navajanardana Parijatam, traditionally performed over nine nights in the temples of East Godavari district, based on the life of Lord Krishna and his consort Satyabhama. He has given numerous performances in India and abroad. He excels in the art of female impersonation, performing as Satyabhama. He has been featured in dance events organized by the National Centre for Performing Arts and Sangeet Natak Akademi.

Kala Krishna has been felicitated by the Telugu University, Hyderabad, and has received the Nandi Award from the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
