Margi Vijayakumar

Margi Vijayakumar is the foremost Kathakali dancer of the new generation specialisig in sthree vesham. Born in 1960, he received training under Thonnakkal Peetambaran, Inchakkattu Ramachandran Pillai and Mankompu Vishnu namboodiri Asan. Later he received advanced training from Kalamandalam Krishnan nair, the great master of Kathakali. Impeccably trained by his gurus and guided by his mentor,. Appukuttan nair, Margi Vijayakumar has developed into a sensitive interpreter of important female characters in Kathakali plays. He has gained wide popularity in kerala in the last ten years. Margi Vijayakumar currently teaches Kathakali at Margi in Trivandrum.
