Natyasala Suresh

Natyasala Suresh was born on 31.05.1959 to Shri.Varkala B.Nagappan Nair and Smt.Tripurasundari. Suresh's father learned kathakali under Sri.Chennithala Chellappan Pillai. Suresh and his three brothers were also trained in kathakali under Sri.Chennithala Chellappan pillai. Suresh and his brothers initiated to Kathakali through their father Shri. Varkala Nagappan Nair because of his ardent devotion in Kathakali.

He further did kathakali practice under Sri.Nelliyodu Vasudevan Namboothiri. His intial stage was at Malayinkeezhu Sreekrishna Swamy Temple, Thiruvananthapuram as 'Vanapalakan' in Sundariswayamvaram.

Intially, Thadi Vesham was his masterpiece. He excelled in the role of Sugreevan in Balivadham and Dussasanan in Duryodhanavadham. His love to both these Veshams exemplifies when he performes Sugreevan with Shri Nelliyodu Vasudevan Namboothiri's Bali and Dussasanan with Shri Chennithala Chellappan Pillai's Duryodhanan. Currently Suresh is doing Pacha Veshams also like Sreekrishnan, Sreeraman and Minukku Veshams like 'Manthravadi' in Nizhalkuthu.

Suresh also learnt Kathakali music under S/Sri.Thiruvalla Gopikuttan Nair and Venmani Haridas.

The 'NATYASALA KATHAKALI SANGAM', which runs under the excellent guidence and mastery of Suresh is performing Excellent Kathakali not only throughout Kerala State but all over the Globe.
