Acclaimed for his talent around the world, Guru V.Krishnamoorthi is a creative artist in Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. His is a unique coming together of diverse facets of the art form and he is an acclaimed nattuvanar, gifted choreographer and singer.

Guru Krishnamoorthi honed his talent at Kalakshetra, where he was awarded a special scholarship by Smt.Rukmini Devi Arundale. He pursued his studies in dance under great maestros including Shri Pakkiriswamy Pillai, Shri t.Kalyanasundaram Pillai, Shri. Adyar K.Lakshmanan, Smt.Malathy Srinivasan, Shri.Narasimhachari & Smt. Vasanthalakshmi and Shri.Trichur Ramanathan.

At Kalakshetra's music faculty he had been the disciple of Shri.Boodaloor Krishnamurthy Sastrigal, Shri.M.D.Ramanathan, Shri.thuraiyur Rajagopala Sarma, Smt.Papanasam Rukmani Ramani and Shri.Mani. He is continuing his pursuit f Carnatic music under the tutelage of Shri.K.ramamurthy.

As a senior fellow at the Sangeet Natak Academy, he has completed research on rare songs of Oothukkadu Venkata Subbaiar. He has also participated in Mellatur Bhagavada Mela many times.

He has been associated with leading dancers like Yamini Krishnamurthy, Vyjayanthimala Bali, Sonal Mansingh, Hema Rajagopal, Charu Narasimhan, Swapna Sundari, Geeta Chandran, Srilatha Suresh and many others, both in India and abroad.

He has many choreographic works to his credit including Sri Mookambika Prabhavam presented by neena gulati (USA), Andal Kalyanam performed by his students, Tridhara led by Yamini Krishnamurthy, Dasavatharam of Charu Narasimhan, Alwars and Nayanmars, Navagrahas, and Nava Shakti (performed by Srilatha Suresh).

"Nattuvangam" is an art by itself and V.Krishnamoorthi has consummated this skill with innovative Jathis and Nadais. Famous dance critic Shri.Subbudu says, "It is always a delight to hear Guru Krishnamoorthi's utterances of rhythmic sequences with astounding clarity and precision. In fact, they sound like percussion instruments."

Guru Krishnamoorthi is a versatile artist excelling in all aspects of dance, having worked with several gurus and dancers. After imbibing many different styles, he has created one of his own that reflects his creativity and innovative choreography. His Nattuvangam technique has been extrolled by connoisseurs. His emotive style of singing enhances these dance performances.
