R. Mohana Krishnan

 


Mohana Krishnan was born in a family of Traditional Musicians, initially started Mrudangam from Mrudanga Vidwan Sree Pallathur C.T. Laxmanan at the age of seven. Further learnt under the guidance of Kalaimamani Shri Tiruvarur Bakthavathasalam.

An Upgraded artist in All India Radio (B.High-Carnatic Classical Mrudangam). Won prizes in various competitions.

Awarded Isai Selvam by Tamil Isai Sangam (1987), Raja Annamalai Mandram.

Vadhya Visharada Diploma by Tamil nadu Govt. Music College. (1989) Chennai

Awarded Scholarship by Ministry of Human Resources Development (1998 - 2000) Department of Culture, Govt of India New Delhi 110 001.

Won prize in National Competition (Madhya Pradesh Rajya Yuva Utsav 1994, Bhopal). Regularly performing in Music season concerts also.

Awards: Palani Subramaniam Pillai Award from Sri Raagam Fine Arts in the year 2007.

Received the title 'Yuva Kala Bharathi' from Bharat Kalachar in the year 2003.

Received Excellence award for the year 2002 from SAFE (Shanthi Arts Foundation)

Instrumental Symphony: Peformed in Sri Sri Ravishankar Guruji's Art Of Living Foundations 25th Anniversary FEB 06. First ever South Indian Classical Symphony with over 3800 artists from all over the world.

Abroad Concerts: Australia, Indonesia, Phillipines, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Korea 1998 (ICCR), Germany, Finland, Sweden,
London - 1999 and USA.

Work Experience: Worked as a Mrudangam teacher in the Department of drums section, Temple of Fine Arts, Malaysia.
