Bhagavatula Sethuram |

Bhagavatula Sethuram hails
from the traditional Kuchipudi family. His father Bhagavatula Rama Kotaiah
developed a new style of dance. One of their productions worth mentioning
is the Ramanatakam, which, as the title suggests, revolves around the
popular mythical character Rama, and yet is modernistic in presentation.
Most of the dance theater is suggestive and a considerable amount is left
to the imagination of audience (unlike in any other classical dance drama,
which begins with invocation in an elaborate manner and culminates with
the 'happy ending').
Bhagavatula Sethuram is a senior lecturer in the Department of Dance, Telugu University. He heads the institution "Kuchipudi Nritya Nilayam" established by his father as early as in 1962 and also teaching Dance for Diploma and Certificate courses |
