Shreelina Ghosh is a senior disciple of Guru Aloka Kanungo. She holds the Sangeet Visharad (graduate) degree in Odissi with a first class under Pracheen Kala Kendra. Some of her major performances in India include Khajuraho Dance Festival, Uday Shankar Dance Festival, Surya Festival (Kerala), Thalam (Kerala), Swaralaya Nrityotsav (Kerala), All India, Women's Congress, Shankar Dev Festival (Guwahati), Padatik Cultural Centre (Kolkata), India Habitat Center (New Delhi), Puri Beach Festival and several times on national and state television. In USA she has performed at events organized by Human Relations Commission (City of Livonia), Mayor of Lansing (Lansing Diversity Festival), Coalition of Women Scholars in the History of Rhetoric, South Lansing Community Development Association, Michigan State University Alumni Association (Incredible India event), MSU Asian Studies Center (collaborations with Guru Aloka Kanungo and Smt. Sreyashi Dey), MSU Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives, Indian associations of Lansing and Austin, TX. She received honorable mention at the Excellence in Diversity Awards at Michigan State University (Category: "Making a Difference through Artistic Expression"), "Star of Tomorrow Award" from West Bengal Dance Group Federation and competitive awards from West Bengal State Music Academy and West Bengal Music Circle. Shreelina has been invited to teach Odissi dance by The East Lansing Department of Arts and is Guest-Instructor at Michigan Odissi Dance Academy, Okemos, Michigan. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Cultural/Digital Rhetorics at Michigan State University, USA. | ||||
