Kalamandalam Sreekanth Varma was born on 29-05-1976. His father, Shri R.R.C Varma is a retired Professor and mother Smt. K.Santha Devi is a retaired music teacher. He started learning ‘Chenda’ at the age of ten. His Gurus were Late Shri Ariyannoor Narayanan Namboothiri, Late Kalarathnam Shri Varanasi Madhavan Namboothiri and Kalamandalam Shri Narayanan Varanasi. He joined Kerala Kalamandalam, Cheruthuruthy and studied for five years and passed the Diploma & Post Graduate Diploma with first class. He has won the Moothamana-Venkichan Swamy Award for the best student.

He is recepient of the scholarship for higher studies in Chenda from the Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Govt of India. He accompanied many veterans in Kathakali in and around India. Now he is working as teacher (Chenda) in Sandarsan Kathakali Vidyalayam at Ambalappuzha. He is also talented in Idakka to support Mohiniyattam, Koodiyattam and Kathakali.
